Code of Conduct

The Conference on Mechanisms of Touch and Force-Based Manipulations is dedicated to providing a safe, productive, and inclusive environment. Our goal is to foster open dialogue, promote new collaborations, and build a cohesive community of researchers committed to advancing the science of mechanical force application for therapeutic intent.

All participants—including attendees, speakers, exhibitors, staff, and volunteers—are expected to uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity and professional ethics. We believe the best advancements in scientific research happen when diverse viewpoints are deliberated in an orderly, respectful, and fair manner.

Expected Behavior
Treat all participants with respect and consideration, valuing the diverse perspectives that different disciplines bring to the study of FBMs.
Communicate openly and critique ideas rather than individuals.
Be mindful of your surroundings and alert organizers or staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.

To maintain a professional atmosphere focused on knowledge dissemination, the following behaviors will not be tolerated:
  • Harassment and Discrimination: Engaging in biased, demeaning, intimidating, or hostile conduct—whether in person, virtually, or on social media—based on sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, physical appearance, or power differential.

  • Disruption of Dialogue: Intentionally talking over or interrupting speakers or colleagues during sessions and Q&A.

  • Personal Attacks: Engaging in personal attacks or commenting on the personal appearance of any participant.

  • Integrity Violations: Retaliation against anyone reporting conduct concerns or assisting in conflict resolution.

  • Unauthorized Recording: Producing or distributing audio/visual recordings or photographs of presentations and proprietary research materials without explicit permission from the presenter.
Reporting
If you experience or witness conduct that violates these standards, please contact a member of the organizing committee immediately. We are committed to a swift and confidential resolution process to ensure the FBM community remains a supportive space for all.
